DePaul University's Reporting Journey
Presenter: Kevin Achettu, DePaul University
Join us as we walk through DePaul University's Reporting Journey. From where we started pre-Oracle Cloud (2019), to where we found ourselves immediate after implementation (2021), all the way through to today. Attendees will get a sense of common post-implementation reporting concerns, as well as the challenges we faced as we implemented our new tools. We will outline how a change in approach, and a focus on engagement and change management, helped us build more effectively. In addition to discussing technical aspects of how data models were set up and supplemented, we will also examine how reports were written to present disparate data sources side by side in an intuitive, effective, and contemporary way. DePaul implemented Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI), paired with an expansion of Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), but the session will be relevant to users of any Reporting and Planning tool - especially those that are working towards, or just finished, a cloud implementation.
This session will guide you through what was initially seen as a step backwards in reporting, all the way through to delivery of a dynamic, intuitive, and informative reporting suite that fits a modern cloud ecosystem. DePaul first presented on this topic at Alliance 2023 (St. Louis). At that time, the focus was budgetary control reporting. Since then, DePaul has enhanced its budgetary control reports with additional ERP sub-ledger detail and added new reports that present Projections (from our Planning module), Grant Activity (from PPM), Proposed Budget (from our Budget Planning tool), HCM reporting, and Enrollment data (from Student Financials).
