Objective
PowerBI and PeopleSoft Campus Solutions are two of the many tools we use for data reporting and analytics. This presentation aims to explore our journey in trying to learn the PowerBI software and how we have been using it in parallel to PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. We will explore some examples of how PowerBI has helped us deliver data and how it is advantageous to the end user in juxtaposition with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. We also aim to explore some of the learning curves and our ideas as they relate to our PowerBI data workspaces.
Context
Our department is responsible for delivering data to various stakeholders around campus. We are experiencing an increase in data needs and expect this trend to continue, as decision making processes are only becoming more data driven.
The tools we have available to supplement to the shift in how we interpret data have also become more accessible. Namley, the PowerBI software that we have been using to build a new framework for managing the front-end access and availability of our data.
