Fellowship and Scholarship Award Spotlight - Using Slate
Track: Student Information Systems
Session Number: 3038
Date: Fri, Oct 21st, 2022
Time: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Room: Room 7A
Description:
The UNC-Chapel Hill Graduate and Professional School Slate database has taken advantage of the resources within Slate to provide users, e.g., faculty, staff, and students a streamlined fellowship/scholarship lifecycle process. In addition, we are providing users a better understanding of the funding resources available and the policies and procedures that govern them. Both a nomination process and pre-selection review are used for external fellowships, while scholarships typically use an application process or hybrid of nomination/application.
A combination of data from existing Slate applications, current student information interfaced from ConnectCarolina/PeopleSoft, and in some cases scholarship-specific applications directly collected in Slate allow us to house scholarship data for matching, review, and awarding of scholarships/fellowships.
Scholarship/Fellowship matching, review, award notification, tracking, reporting, and communication occur within Slate.
