Slate Configurable Joins: Where to start?, Going Beyond, and Use Cases

Track: Student Information Systems

Session Number: 3033
Date: Thu, Oct 20th, 2022
Time: 1:15 PM - 2:15 PM
Room: Room 15

Description:

By now, you should have started migrating to configurable joins. But, you may be new to Slate or have questions about where to start.
- What should be my base table?
- How do I join tables?
- How do subquery filters work?
- How do I configure exports?
- What is Query Library?

You can create a simple configurable join to select applications from a specific round, join to the person table to display name, email address, etc. But, what if you want to do more complex queries? We will show examples of the following types of queries:
- Data export for loading into PeopleSoft (bio/demo, application creation, education)
- Data export for loading decision rows into PeopleSoft
- A specific decision exists, what is the most recent decision?
- School specific test score calculations
- Application pipelines
- Did applicants apply in a previous round?
