Collaborate between universities while remaining a special snowflake

Track: General Interest

Session Number: 6509
Date: Thu, Oct 20th, 2022
Time: 2:30 PM - 3:15 PM
Room: Conference 1 A

Description:

The University of Amsterdam, the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and Leiden University and the SaNS Expertise Center have been working together for over a decade to provide the best possible support to students with their SIS. Within each institution, the governance, how processes run and are managed, and the pace of change differ significantly. However, instead of this hindering us, we learned how to benefit from the differences to become stronger and to provide a better service for our students and employees. This of course did not happen by effortlessly but is the result of using a flexible solution and a working method that allows us to create functionality that can be specific to our own institution, but at the same time flexible enough to be applied by others later, or even differently. Examples are the registration of international and exchange students and the way in which we monitor study progress.
