Data Past - Data Present - Data Futures

Track: Project & Change Management

Session Number: 6522
Date: Thu, Oct 20th, 2022
Time: 2:30 PM - 3:15 PM
Room: Conference 2 B & C

Description:

In preparing for the implementation of Data Futures and the new HESA data model the Functional Development Team embarked on a number of projects to prepare the University for readiness.
A Data Quality Lifecycle project was undertaken, and adapting LEAN principles has introduced a practical and pragmatic approach to data analysis and implemented process improvements.
The project which launched mid-year in 2021 has to date introduced automated processes, removed surplus data from the system and reduced manual intervention in a number of areas. This session will highlight the steps taken to meet project objectives and demonstrate how functionality has been utilised to assist in the communication and prioritisation of Data Quality issues for Data Futures.
